The SOT23 Form Factor supports all the standard SOT variations in a dropdown menu.

If the Package Type you need isn't in the dropdown menu, you can type in any value that you want and that will update the Footprint Name and the Physical Description. You can manually enter the JEITA SC** case code and Footprint Expert will save that information.

The SOT-23 (Small Outline Transistor 23) is a standard, compact, 3-to-6 pin surface-mount plastic package (SMD) for Diodes, Transistors, and MOSFETs, introduced in 1969. It is widely used in consumer electronics to replace through-hole components due to its small footprint and good thermal performance.

Key Aspects of the SOT-23 form factor packages

Dimensions & Design:The standard SOT-23 has a 0.95 mm pitch between leads. It has gull-wing leads for soldering on two sides.

Variations:

While 3-pin (SOT-23-3) is common, variations include 5-pin (SOT-23-5) and 6-pin (SOT-23-6) for ICs and more complex components. The JEITA case code equivalent is SC-59 or the JEDEC TO-236AB.

There is an 8-pin (SOT-23-8) that is also referred to as SOT-28. The JEITA equivalent is SC-70-8.

SOT-323 Is a 3-pin package has pin pitch of 0.65 mm. The JEITA equivalent is SC-70-3.

SOT-346 is a 3-pin package with a pin pitch of 0.95 mm. The JEITA equivalent is SC-59-3

SOT-353 is a 5-pin package with a pin pitch of 0.95 mm. The JEITA equivalent is SC-70-5.
