I want you to know that I am really enjoying the LP Calculator. I have been developing libraries for my main client for the past 6 months and it has proven invaluable, both with the new part creation and in verification (and inevitable editing) of existing land patterns. Not only does it expose the deviations from the correct land pattern, it also provides me with the authority to challenge these legacy land patterns, since all calculations are based upon the IPC specifications that they are contractually required to adhere to. Such an easy ROI when you just take a nanosecond to consider the hand calculations that would otherwise be required. Keep up the excellence!

I just produced a land pattern that I created a few days ago that took me about 30 min. to produce doing it manually (it’s an RF part). I did it in the LP wizard in about 7 min. Wow!! This tool is going to save me a lot of time.

Having used PCB and CAD systems for over 25 years, I spent 10 minutes and what I thought was a really good product turned out to be an amazing & marvelous product. Found every footprint I ever used except one and your support is fantastic. Thanks again for creating such an amazing tool. Saves me many many hours of work.

An engineer gave me a BGA data sheet and asked how soon I would be able to get the library part built. I told him to give me a minute and he laughed. He thought I was joshing him. Only 90 seconds later, I had it in the PC board layout. The LP Wizard is a great resource. |

We find ourselves creating most our footprints using the LP Wizard/Calculator building exactly to a spec versus looking for an existing footprint that’s very close. Generally by the time we locate the footprint in the library, we’re near finished within the calculator creating the footprint. The calculator with the wizard is one nice tool and is allowing us to consider expanding to another PCB CAD tool. |

Nice work on the LP Wizard software. What a time saver and it’s all done to the IPC specs. As an OEM provider of electronic assemblies to our company, we have a unique opportunity to affect the designs we build. Having the correct footprints assigned to these parts created to a standard means instant DFM for our manufacturing facility. We plan to use your software to help us achieve this level of design input. |

I am new at PADS and found the hardest and most time consuming part was creating PCB footprints, making all the measurements, etc. Now all I have to do is enter the data from the spec and the Wizard creates it for me. It also is very time consuming to recheck all the footprints before the board goes to layout, usually the engineers are involved with this checking, so it saves them a lot of time as well. I feel better (and so do the engineers) that the footprints can be verified, this part I really like. PCB Libraries, Inc. has been very helpful and I am comfortable asking questions. Like I said, I am new to PADS, but from the decals the LP Wizard helped me produce, you would think I have been using PADS for a while now! |

I'm glad to see a lot of progress on the
different products, but also glad to know that you have reached
a milestone in your development and have produced what you
originally set out to create. A lot of people will benefit
from this software - it has made designing easier and less
time consuming due to a footprint library I have created for
our development group using the IPC calculator. It has definitely
made life much less stressful. |

Before I installed the program, I had to
develop a new footprint for a 64-pin VQFP. It took the better
part of an hour to calculate the footprint and padstacks.
The Land Pattern Calculator did it in about one minute (had
to fill in all the dimensions). Amazingly, my hand calculation
(based on IPC-782a) was quite close to the results I obtained
using the calculator, except it gave not my one result, but
three. |

The PCB Libraries new LP Wizard is a tool
that has long been needed by the industry. I've been teaching
land pattern design to designers for years and during that
period I've noticed that most of the designers were reinventing
the wheel every time they encountered a component that was
not defined in the IPC-SM-782. What really intrigued me is
that the land pattern would vary only so slightly between
each designer for no real apparent reason. There were several
very clever designers that created scripts to filter HTML
downloads and automatically populate their tool's library
builder.
The new LP Wizard not only standardizes the land patterns,
but also utilizes industry standard naming convention. I can
now say that there is finally a tool and database that is
kept up to date and promotes consistency in SMT design. |

The IPC-7351 LP Wizard is an extremely useful
and easy-to-use tool! There is no second-guessing about what
data needs to be entered to create a successful land pattern/decal.
But, the user is not 'stuck' with what's given in the pre-defined
libraries! The tool allows for user-specified constraints
to be applied to tailor the pattern for the desired end result.
A real time saver and every designer should not do without
it!

The LP Wizard is a tool of great value for
creating and checking my library! It can create PCB foot-prints
that adhere to IPC-7351 and generate 3 types of component
foot-prints allowing me to quickly generate 3 foot-prints
per component which meet my demands. I usually spend a great
deal of time up front, but the PCB Libraries IPC-7351 LP Wizard,
allows me to create new component foot prints and double checking
each new part in half the time I spent before. The tool is
simple and powerful with a very intuitive graphical interface.
It is as simple as filling in the fields straight from a component
data book mechanical spec. |

I purchased the IPC-7351 LP Wizard and I
have found that it’s an exceptional tool for PCB hardware
development! It has the ability to shorten my overall design
cycle by a significant amount. My hardware engineers are able
to research component data and provide me with accurate footprint
information. The search engine and calculators provide us
with PCB library data that is accurate, consistent and quick.
All of this is performed in accordance to the latest IPC standards.
I highly recommend this product! |

I have been working in the PCB Layout profession
for about 15 years. I could not find a tool that was powerful
to manage my CAD library until I tried the IPC-7351 LP Wizard
from PCB Libraries. My CAD library construction is very easy
with the PADS IPC-7351 Wizard. Coupled with the free CAD library
on the PCB Libraries website, my CAD library is now in order.
This tool is a must for everyone working in PCB layout. PCB

Working in a Service Bureau environment,
there is a constant need to create new CAD land pattern library
parts. One mistake in land pattern creation could cost you
thousands of dollars. The IPC-7351 LP Wizard has eliminated
my fears of this type of problem. The ability to view the
physical component on the land pattern with dimensional data,
gives me the confidence that the CAD Library I am using within
a specific class environment, is going to be within any manufacturability
requirements by the assembly shop I am working with. |

I like what PCB Libraries did with your
spread sheet calculator and I purchased it. I appreciate the
“Global Library” concept and have incorporated
it into our group’s methodology. Originally we liked
your simple spread sheet. It was really cool, we liked that
it spelled out all the dimensions, including silkscreen, court
yard etc. This was a piece of work. Recently we have just
started to really dig into the IPC-7351 LP Wizard. From all
the evidence thus far, I can tell PCB Libraries is dedicated
to the products' continued improvement, and expect the product
to become better and better as time goes by and you gain more
customer input. |

I worked in the PCB design industry since
1982 and witnessed several revolutionary changes like Red/Blue
tape Artwork to ECAD, Manual router to Auto Router, Pen Plotter
to Photo Plotter, Vector Photo Plotter to Laser Plotter and
so on. PCB Libraries' IPC-7351 LP Wizard is another milestone
for this industry. Solectron Invotronics bought a site license
and the departments that use it like it a lot! I use the LP
Wizard for PCB foot print design, while manufacturing/process
engineers use it to evaluate design for manufacturability.
It is a very useful tool that I think was long over due. Keep
up the good work PCB Libraries! |
