Is it possible to create non standard smt parts in Footprint Expert, such as the following:
Reverse mount LED's, such as LG M47K http://catalog.osram-os.com/jsp/download.jsp?name=LG_M47K_Pb_free.pdf&url=/media/_en/Graphics/00042011_0.pdf Vishay PowerPAK 1212-8T http://www.vishay.com/docs/62836/powerpak12128t.pdf Linear Technology UHE Package Variation: UHE36(28)MA B3U-3100P(M)-B http://cds.linear.com/docs/en/packaging/QFN_28_05-08-1836.pdf with split thermal pad. OMRON B3U-3100P(M)-B http://www.omron.com/ecb/products/pdf/en-b3u.pdf with a mounting boss. |

The new "Package Editor" in V2013 coming out this weekend will be able to create all the parts mentioned in your post.
You can create any SMT or PTH padstack and using the mfr. recommended pattern quickly place the pads and the component body and the program will auto-generate all of the other details. Save the part to FPX file so that you can manage your master library in a spreadsheet format. When the "Parts on Demand" (POD) website opens, you can upload your FPX files in exchange for credits to download other parts created by other PCB designers. |
