We are facing problems with BGA's while creating 3D step and the generation of the placement courtyard.

Mirroring BGA's is typically used for seeing the Bottom Side to make it easier to depopulate pads. There is no such thing as a Mirrored BGA, so do not save mirrored BGA's to FPX. Send me the link to the datasheet so I can reproduce the courtyard issue. |

Hey Tom,
I've run into this BGA pin one location a couple times now, got bit pretty hard on the Altera one since no one caught it. Another just came up that would have been nice to move the pin one location on the bga also but that is just not an option, maybe it should be. The two examples are here... https://www.altera.com/content/dam/altera-www/global/en_US/pdfs/literature/packaging/04r00478-01.pdf We were really surprised by the Altera pinout, I personally think someone mirrored a pinout diagram and didn't want to fix their documentation or the like so they just flipped the mechanical. Thanks, Paul Hinchcliff |

I can relate to your situation, but the Mirror feature is exclusively for seeing the "Bottom Side" for the sole purpose of matching the datasheet to depopulate pins.
You must un-mirror the BGA prior to putting into your FPX file.
The feature that you need is Alphanumeric Rows or Columns - ![]() |
