    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.PCBLibraries.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=12085">craig4tone</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2053<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 19 Apr 2018 at 8:27am<br /><br />Any updates on this?&nbsp; We are running into more and more instances where we might want to put notes or sketches on a layer other than Legend or Assembly.&nbsp; We typically map to a DESIGN_NOTES layer.&nbsp; Parts such as sensors, LEDs may have specific layout requirements that we like to capture in the footprint besides PCB edge on connectors.&nbsp; Ideally, we want this data in FPX so we can export to the multiple tool chains that we utilize and the data is consistent.]]>

The reason is that Library Expert interfaces to 23 CAD tools and we need layers that they all have in common. I think every CAD tool has a Drill (Fabrication) Drawing&nbsp;&nbsp;layer.</div><div><br></div>]]>
