At least this way we can update existing footprints without changing the name. ]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.PCBLibraries.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=3">Tom H</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1928<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 18 Jul 2016 at 2:36pm<br /><br /><div>The Extended Names were adopted by IPC Land Pattern committee, but they also wanted to relocate the Pin Qty to the beginning of the land pattern name. </div><div><br></div><div>We no longer support "Extended Names" as they were just a place holder until the IPC committee finalized and approved a new naming convention. </div><div><br></div><div>You can go back to IPC-7351B, but that does not have Extended Names.</div><div><br></div><div>Or you can edit the Footprint Name to whatever name you want. </div><div><br></div>]]>

It's in the Console &gt; Design tab</div><div><br></div><div>If you use "C" you can regenerate all your footprint names in your FPX file in the <b>Library Editor &gt; Tools &gt; Regenerate Library &gt; Names </b></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>]]>
