Once I gotcurious how POD database increases over time. So, I wrote a little VB.NETapplication to read information from www.pcblibraries.com/pod/.Every single day at the same time I was acquiring data from that page. I waswaiting for the 1 mil number. When it was reached I was a bit busy, so I amreporting my findings only now.

Here isthe main graph that illustrates how parts count has changed over time. You cansee that there were two big spikes, there was a decrease and during the rest ofthe time part count has changed slightly (or not at all).


515561 newparts numbers were added during my observation period. You can see the list ofmanufacturers that got the most substantial updates below. I was not surprisedto see Vishay on the top of the list and I was not surprised that it tookalmost 60 percent of the total change.
