Adding Template to Altium Footprint Builder, to have one script .prjscr file for each package have all parameters when using 'Batch Build'.

When selecting Batch Build create multiple Libraries when 'Create New' option is selected instead of building one by one like other tool like Altium as attached, can build more footprints, it will save time  uploads/11979/BGA_Ball_Grid_Array.xls" rel="nofollow - uploads/11979/BGA_Ball_Grid_Array.xls

We're looking into this request via Altium scripting.

We're not sure there is an Altium script command that can do this.

This request is a bit over the top. It's impractical from a programming point.

You want to automate the creation of multiple libraries (one library per footprint) when using 'Batch Build > Create New'.

If this is what you need for your PCB library process, we recommend that you build one part at a time and create a new library for every footprint.

No, not when using batch build.

When using build  single footprint, instead fill dimension in interface like below screen, upload Excel .xls file contains all these values, and in same time user can have option upload more footprints with different dimension but same package, and tool create them.

If I understand your request correctly, you want a feature to allow 'Batch Build' to automatically create a separate Altium library for every footprint in the Batch Build.

I don't think this is going to happen.

You'll have to use "Single" part creation to autogenerate a new library for each part. Footprint Expert already has this feature.

I don't mean this.

I meant the creation of a footprint to have an option instead fill dimension one by one, to have Excel file for each package type, and user fill them once and upload them, it will be great, effective, productive, avoiding more time to be duplicated.

We're confused on the word 'Template'.

If you're requesting a new feature and we don't understand the request, we need you to develop a test case and explain step by step how this feature can be implemented.

Especially when no one else asked for this feature.

The way a new feature is added (when we don't understand 100% of what the feature is supposed to do), is the new feature request must be completely spelled out by the requester.

What is the intended end result?

We need step by step instructions like a blueprint on what the function of the new feature will perform.

Most of the time we know what the user wants. But when we don't know, we need guidance.

I sent you a sample Excel spreadsheet.

Did you check it?

And I already answered your questions.

I aim to make this new feature like magic for users.

Who created the Excel spreadsheet? Where did it come from?

What do you want us to do with it?

Who is going to populate the data fields?

Are you referring that you want Footprint Expert should support this spreadsheet?

This looks like Altium. Footprint Expert interfaces to 25 CAD tools.

Cadence Allegro/OrCAD and Siemens Xpedition/PADS users are our top tier customer base.

How do Cadence and Siemens users benefit from this new feature request?

It seems that this request is an entire new product line and you’re not providing sufficient information to create it. No Step-by-Step instructions. No blueprint on how this is supposed to work.

We have no clue in what new feature you are asking for. It almost seems counter productive to Footprint Expert Calculators.

Tom
i have sent an image, and xls file,
idea already found in Altium tool in creation footprint,
my idea simply to apply like it in pcb tool
i who make xls file, if you open it you will find features as ones in your pcb tool,
just instead user fill cell by cell in interface, user will fill xls, and tool create fpx row for it
all users will use it not Altium user
i hope i reply your questions and hope also you consider this option
create fpx by template
i have did that xls, and image based on your request

After fully reviewing the information that was provided, we determined that it's not sufficient enough for us to implement this feature request.

Footprint Expert V25.10 is fully developed with every feature that users have requested and it's bug free.

At this time, Footprint Expert is in maintenance mode for bug fixes (if and when one is reported).

You can stop requesting this new feature as it could take months to develop and we would never recoup the development revenue lose. And it would not add any major benefit to the existing product.

Our goal is to build 'Parts on Demand' with millions of parts to eliminate duplication of effort. This concept is PCB library automation to the highest degree.

First, I would like to thank you Tom for your great support.
Second, I have provided more information as you, Jeff requested, but if you still need more information, i can sure support and provide, i have asked more if you need any more information,
Third,  this option will be more useful for more users and all users,  it will help  every one use tool
Fourth, AS you see it have more views  so interest of more users about 11,671 views
Fifth,  you are the owner of tool , who can decide  add feature or not, just i try tell you my opinion, `and try show you how much it more important even take time in development, also i think may be if feature released package by package will be more easier than release all packages ones
at end i would like to thank you again for your great support

You would need to do a webcast with us to demonstrate this new feature request.

Right now, we don't fully understand the request to develop it.
