| I found duplicate names in PTH connectors using the Footprint Naming Convention. The W identifier does not distinguish between circular or square Lead Shape, this create the same footprint name for different connectors; eg, HDRV2W65P254_2X1_508X254H945 could have: - a 0.65mm square lead shape and hole of 1.12mm, or - a 0.65mm circular lead shape and hole of 0.85mm It would be interesting to specify the Lead Shape in W identifier? Thank you very much. | |

IPC-7351C is deep in development. Our next meeting is Monday morning. It will go out to the entire 1-13 Land Pattern sub-committee next week for review and feedback. It will go through final Executive Committee approval in September at SMTA in Rosemont, IL and then head out for 30-day ballot vote with the 1-13 Land Pattern sub-committee. Then the new Guideline will go into type setting for first article proof and then in February 2016 production should begin. The IPC-7351C Guideline is 90% written but the last 10% will take a couple months and the evaluation and editing / approval phase also takes a couple months. Voting could take 90 days if it doesn't pass on the 1st vote. | |
