 I have tried this, and I've managed to get as far as the UDP export from Eagle, but I have not managed to get a footprint into KiCad. For right now, outputting through the Eagle translator to the ULP is your best bet.

I have never heard of KiCad. Does it have an ASCII import / export?
 
Do they have a Lite or Demo version? Is it free? Does KiCad import other CAD tool library files?

Has anyone used PCB Footprint Expert with KiCad?
Perhaps exporting to an intermediate format like eagle and then into KiCad?
