    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.PCBLibraries.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=1">Nick B</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2900<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 04 May 2021 at 9:20am<br /><br /><p>NOTE: all references to versions in this post are for <strong><em>FPX file format</em></strong>, <em><u>not</u></em> software version!!</p><p>Updating FPX&nbsp;files from <strong>FPX file format</strong> <em>(not software version!)</em>&nbsp;2012 or&nbsp;2017 involve manually supplying additional component data that was added in subsequent versions to produce the 3D models.</p><div>For fpx files of this age you’re probably better off starting from scratch.<br>Updating&nbsp;2020 to 2021 is simply reformatting.</div><div><br>To convert FPX files from FPX file version 2012 to 2017:<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;1.&nbsp;Open the 2012 FPX file in Library Expert 2017.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;2.&nbsp;Save FPX file (click save button).</div><p>To convert FPX files from FPX file version 2017 to 2018:<br>&nbsp; 1.&nbsp;Open the 2017 FPX file in Library Expert 2020.<br>&nbsp; 2.&nbsp;Save FPX file (click save button).</p><p>To convert FPX files from FPX file version 2018 to 2021:<br>&nbsp; 1.&nbsp;Open 2018 FPX file in Library Expert 2021.<br>&nbsp; 2.&nbsp;Chose ‘backup library’ option.<br>&nbsp; 3.&nbsp;Save FPX file (click save button).</p><div>Or you can use the 2021 update converter program included in <strong>Footprint Expert v2021</strong>.<br></div>]]>
