Exit the program, start it up again and check that your new symbols are there on the default startup.

On existing schematics I believe I had to ascii out the schematic, start a new schematic (using your new default startup) and ascii it back in. Author: Bryan Lucas
Subject: Updating schematics with new Power, GND & O-P
Posted: 04 Apr 2012 at 6:32am

Ok folks - this issue is driving me crazy and one of you must know how to solve it.

I am trying to standardise our Power, GND & Off-Page symbols for our Engineers who are scattered across multiple sites. Each team has their own favorite symbols so I have updated $GND_SYMS, $OSR_SYMS & $PWR_SYMS in our master library.

The problem is that when I try to update any existing schematic using Tools>Update from Library> then selecting only Power, GND or Off-Page symbols it fails to update as $GND_SYMS has either more or renamed symbols within it.

Does anyone know how to do this globally on a schematic without having to delete all and start over?

Thanks in advance,

Bryan.
