    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.PCBLibraries.com/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=201">Jeff.M</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 2976<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 01 Sep 2021 at 9:15am<br /><br />It's because at the time we created the calculator, most manufacturers only provided Maximum body dimensions for most Through-hole component packages.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>A spot check of data sheets shows this is still the case.</div><div><br><div>There's also the practical reason to provide a more realistic and consistent graphic representation of the terminal relationships to the body for SMD parts because of tighter sizes and tolerances.</div><div><br></div></div>]]>
