Once you qualify, we send you a license for the Professional version and all the future updates for version 2015.

We figure that you have to build library parts for your PCB layouts anyway, you might as well use them as credits to purchase the software you used to create them.

Will this new program work for you?

I've looked in to upgrading to the professional version periodically, but it's simply far too expensive to justify for my needs and frequency of use. (I only need to use it a few times per year.)

The professional version also includes a number of features that I don't really care about. I'm not interested in Parts on Demand. The batch features could be helpful sometimes, but I can live without them. Ditto for non-standard parts. Really, the only feature from the professional version I really want is the ability to modify preferences and persist them from session to session.

Would you consider:

Adding the ability to modify preferences to the Lite version?

Creating one or more additional product editions between Lite and Professional with reduced feature sets and lower pricing than Professional?

Making various features available a la carte, so we can choose (and pay for) only the features we need?

Reducing the cost of the Professional version significantly?

Implementing some sort of pay-per-use model that would allow low-frequency users (like myself) access to the Professional features on an as-needed basis at reduced cost?
